National Sales Manager (Sports Turf) – Established UK Adhesives Manufacturer
Job Description
A profitable, family-owned UK adhesives and sealants manufacturer is investing in its U.S. expansion by hiring a National Sales Manager to continue to build out the artificial turf category.
The company has made a significant investment to grow its American footprint, and artificial turf has emerged as one of its strongest growth drivers. This hire will own the sports turf opportunity nationwide, with the runway to build relationships, break into established accounts, and take the category to its next level.
- Growth: 40-year-old UK parent company, family-owned and privately held since 1985. U.S. revenue has grown from $4M to $10M, with 23% growth last year.
- Impact: True hunter role with nationwide territory and no existing account overlap; ownership of the sports field opportunity, building on existing wins including projects tied to the PGA and University of Michigan.
- Opportunity: Company is still relatively new to the sports turf market, so this person joins at a point with significant room to build rather than maintain.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary $110K–$130K, with OTE of ~$190K–$250K (Uncapped Commissions — 10% of gross profit, paid monthly).
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- 401(k) with company match.
- 15 days PTO, plus 2 additional paid days around Thanksgiving and Christmas, including company shutdown time.
- Company card provided for business travel expenses.
- Car allowance: $500–$1,000/month, depending on region.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience within the sports turf / sports field industry — does not need to come from the adhesive industry specifically.
- Relevant backgrounds include sports lighting, sports field construction, turf padding/underlayment, infill, sports field panels, or other ancillary products sold into the sports turf market.
- An established network and credibility with turf installers, distributors, contractors, and other industry contacts — this is a relationship-driven business.
- Comfortable in a lean, hands-on, all-hands-on-deck organization with high visibility and very little bureaucracy.
- A true hunter mentality — 70% new business development, building credibility and expanding accounts over time rather than high-volume cold calling.
- Willing to travel approximately 25–50%, organized geographically, plus roughly four trade shows/conferences per year.
