Territory Sales Manager | Pavement Preservation | Utah

Job Description

The Opportunity

Our client is an established pavement preservation company hiring a Territory Sales Manager to own the Utah territory. The company provides consultation and products that extend the life of asphalt pavement on roads and airfields. Customers include cities, counties, state agencies, public works departments, DOTs, airports, the FAA, and the DOD. The incoming salesperson will inherit existing accounts currently managed by the Roads Team Lead, who will provide account transitions, ride-alongs, and ongoing field support.

The company is a recognized leader in pavement preservation with strong revenue growth over the last seven years and additional product launches underway. This is a consultative, relationship-driven sell into public agency buyers, not a transactional product sale.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full sales cycle across Utah, including hunting new accounts and farming inherited and existing accounts

  • Build and maintain relationships with public works directors, street supervisors, road maintenance managers, DOT contacts, and municipal infrastructure buyers

  • Conduct pavement evaluations, support road network assessments, and deliver presentations to agency customers

  • Track pipeline activity in Salesforce, create and manage an annual sales plan, and log critical agency and project information

  • Attend conferences, seminars, and speaking opportunities representing the company in the territory

  • Coordinate with the Roads Team Lead and internal team on project planning, customer support, and territory strategy

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $125,000 to $175,000 (experienced candidate) | $80,000 to $110,000 (high-potential candidate)

  • OTE: $275,000 to $300,000 | Commissions are fully uncapped with no ceiling, ever

  • Commission functions like an annuity: repeat customer purchases continue generating commission long after the initial sale

  • Zero monthly health insurance premiums for employees — the company covers it fully

  • 401(k) with 4% company match

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Fully remote, field-based role with no office requirement

Why This Company?

  • Recession-resistant market. Public agencies maintain road networks regardless of economic conditions, and this company has served those buyers for decades.

  • Not a cold-start territory. Existing accounts are being transitioned directly from the Roads Team Lead, who is incentivized to support the new rep’s success.

  • Earning potential up to $300,000 with commissions that are truly uncapped and have never been capped in the company’s history.

  • Commission works like an annuity. Prior customers keep buying, and the salesperson keeps earning on every repeat purchase.

  • The company covers 100% of employee health insurance premiums — no monthly cost to you. Combined with unlimited PTO and a 4% 401(k) match, the total package is one of the strongest in the industry.

Requirements

  • Outside sales experience selling to public works, municipalities, DOT-related buyers, city or county agencies, or similar public agency customers

  • Pavement preservation, road maintenance, municipal infrastructure, or construction product backgrounds are a strong fit; relevant buyer relationships matter more than exact product match

  • Hunter mentality with the ability to own a territory independently, build pipeline, and manage a consultative sales process

  • Comfortable with long sales cycles, field-based selling, and working without an office or daily oversight

  • Salesforce proficiency and comfort with business technology including Microsoft Office

  • Familiarity with bid processes, RFP responses, and public sector procurement

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across the territory
